1. Introduction
False Peak (“we”, “our”, “us”) makes Caelia: Journal & Motivation for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This policy explains what information the app and this website use, why, and the choices you have. It applies alongside the general False Peak privacy policy.
2. There's no account
You don't sign up for Caelia. We don't ask for your email, and we don't know who you are.
3. What stays on your device
- Your diary, check-ins and moods, the notes Caelia keeps about you, the words you saved and your birthdays are stored on your device.
- iCloud sync. The journal on iPad and Mac, and your iPhone if you have Caelia Pro, sync through your own private iCloud database. We can't read it.
- Speaking to her. When you talk instead of typing, your words are turned into text on your device where it's supported. The recording itself is never kept.
- Location. If you allow it, your approximate location is used only to show the weather where you are, through Apple Weather, or to add a place to a journal page. We don't store it.
4. What leaves your device
- Her AI words. When “Personal words with AI” is on, the app sends what one reply needs to our server (Google Firebase), which asks OpenAI to write it: the kind of moment, the time of day, your language and themes, your first name if you gave it, and, if you let her learn, how your days felt, the entry she's answering and the short notes she keeps. We don't store these requests, and your whole diary is never sent. On devices with Apple Intelligence, some of her words are written on the device instead. Turn AI words off in Settings › Caelia's mind and she speaks only from her own hand-written lines.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to count anonymous events, such as which features are used and whether reminders are on. It isn't linked to your identity, and we don't use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Purchases. Caelia Pro is sold through Apple. We use RevenueCat to check your subscription with an anonymous identifier, and Apple's attribution service to learn whether an install came from an App Store ad. We never see your payment details.
5. How we use information
- To make the app work: her replies, the weather, sync and your subscription.
- To understand, in aggregate, what helps and improve the app.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use your diary for advertising.
6. Storage and security
Information that leaves your device travels encrypted. Our server runs on Google Firebase, which follows international data protection standards. Our service providers (Google, OpenAI, RevenueCat and Apple) process data under their own privacy terms and only to provide their service to us.
7. This website
caelia.app has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party requests. Our host, Firebase Hosting, keeps standard server logs.
8. Children
Caelia isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
9. Your rights and choices
Under applicable data protection laws, including the Swiss FADP and the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its processing and ask for it to be carried over. Because your diary lives on your device, you can erase it yourself at any time: Settings › Caelia's mind › Forget everything also removes it from iCloud when you sync. Deleting the app removes what's on that device.
10. Not a crisis service
Caelia is a gentle daily practice, not therapy. If she notices you may be in danger, she shows a helpline for your region; that check happens on your device.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app.
